Preparing for Your Medical

Preparing in advance can help your aviation medical proceed as efficiently as possible.

Complete your UK CAA Cellma application

Please complete and submit your medical application through the UK CAA Cellma medical records system before attending your appointment.

Access the UK CAA medical records system (Cellma)

Cellma is accessed through the UK CAA Customer Portal and is used for aviation medical applications and medical records. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

What should I bring?

Please bring:

  • Photographic identification
  • Your current UK CAA medical certificate, if applicable
  • Your pilot's licence, if applicable
  • Your glasses or contact lenses if normally worn
  • Spare glasses if you use them
  • Your most recent optician's report or current spectacle prescription, where applicable
  • Relevant medical reports or correspondence that you have been asked to bring
  • Details of any regular medication

If you normally wear contact lenses, please also bring your glasses with you.

Urine sample

Urine testing forms part of the medical assessment, so please arrive able to provide a urine sample during your appointment.

Existing medical conditions or recent changes in health

If you have a significant medical condition, a recent diagnosis, operation or hospital attendance, have started or changed regular medication, or have experienced a significant change in your health, please contact Altitude Aeromedical before booking or attending your appointment.

Depending on your circumstances, additional medical information, specialist reports or investigations may be required. Identifying this in advance may help avoid unnecessary delay in completing your medical certification.

Please do not stop prescribed medication in preparation for your aviation medical unless advised to do so by the clinician responsible for your care.

If you already hold a UK CAA medical certificate and have experienced a significant change in your health since your last medical, you should comply with the applicable UK CAA requirements for notification and should not wait until your next routine medical examination to seek advice.

Medical and family history

Your medical application and assessment will include questions about your medical history and relevant family medical history. Please answer these questions fully and accurately.

If you are unsure whether previous medical treatment, investigations or family history may be relevant, you are welcome to contact us before your appointment.

On the day of your medical

Please attend as you normally would and continue your usual prescribed medication. There is no need to fast unless you have specifically been advised otherwise.

Please avoid excessive caffeine immediately before your appointment and allow sufficient time to arrive without rushing.
