Dr Simon Forrington is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia with extensive experience in aviation medicine, aeromedical operations and patient transport.
Clinical experience
Simon has worked as an NHS Consultant at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust since 2016, combining senior clinical practice in intensive care medicine and anaesthesia with roles in clinical governance and patient safety.
His clinical background provides extensive experience in the assessment and management of complex medical conditions, acute illness and the physiological considerations relevant to aviation medicine.
Aviation and aeromedical experience
Simon has been involved in aviation and aeromedical medicine since 2011.
His experience includes fixed-wing aeromedical retrieval and repatriation, air ambulance operations and helicopter emergency medical services.
He is Medical Director at Gama Aviation, where his responsibilities include medical oversight relating to fixed-wing aeromedical retrieval and repatriation services.

Since 2019, Simon has served as Head of Standards at EURAMI, the European Aero-Medical Institute.
